Users can request account deletion through a support-led web pathway without being forced back into the app experience.
User Account Deletion Policy
This policy explains how Vadhuvara handles account closure, profile removal, deletion requests, lawful retention, fraud controls, and support timelines for an adult matrimony platform.
Vadhuvara may keep narrowly scoped records where required for security, fraud prevention, payment settlement, tax, dispute handling, or legal compliance.
Deletion requests do not stop the platform from preserving evidence tied to abuse reports, impersonation, payment misuse, or other serious violations.
How deletion works
Vadhuvara is a matrimonial service where accounts may be operated directly by the individual member or, in some cases, by a verified parent, sibling, guardian, or family registrant acting on that member's behalf. Because these accounts can contain profile information, images, communication history, preference settings, and payment records, deletion requests are handled through a documented verification and retention process rather than instant irreversible removal from every system at the moment of request.
This policy is designed to give users a practical way to request account deletion while also protecting the business, other members, and reporting obligations related to security, fraud, abuse, and applicable law. It should be read together with the Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, billing terms, and any in-app instructions available to the member at the time of the request.
If you only want to stop receiving matches temporarily, hide your profile, or pause communications, you may ask for deactivation instead of permanent deletion. Permanent deletion is intended for users who want their account closed and their eligible data erased or de-identified from active use.
Scope and Purpose
This policy applies to self-managed member accounts, jointly managed family accounts, and profiles created by an authorized registrant on behalf of an adult bride or groom prospect.
It covers deletion of the account itself, profile visibility, associated personal data in active systems, and the circumstances in which Vadhuvara may lawfully retain limited information after an account has been closed.
Who May Submit a Deletion Request
- A. The account holder may request deletion of their own account.
- B. A verified registrant or family representative may request deletion only where the profile was created or operated on behalf of the member and the relationship can be reasonably verified.
- C. Vadhuvara may require additional confirmation from the person represented by the profile before acting on a third-party deletion request.
- D. We may refuse or pause a request where we reasonably believe the requester lacks authority, the request is fraudulent, or the request would interfere with an active safety investigation or legal obligation.
How to Submit a Deletion Request
- A. Users may submit a deletion request by emailing support@vadhuvara.org from the registered email address or by contacting the officially designated support flow made available by Vadhuvara.
- B. The request should include the member name, registered mobile number, registered email address, profile ID if available, and whether the request is for temporary deactivation or permanent deletion.
- C. If the member has an active paid package, auto-renewal, concierge service, or pending subscription issue, the user should clearly state whether the deletion request should proceed immediately after cancellation-related support is completed.
- D. If the member cannot access the registered email or phone number, additional verification may be required before any deletion request is processed.
Identity and Security Verification
Vadhuvara may ask for reasonable verification before processing deletion, including OTP confirmation, registered contact confirmation, account metadata checks, or a limited identity match where risk signals exist.
Verification is used to prevent impersonation, malicious deletion attempts, domestic abuse related account takeovers, and unauthorized closure of profiles maintained for an adult family member.
We will not request excessive information where a request can be safely validated through less intrusive means, but we reserve the right to ask for additional proof when the circumstances justify it.
What Happens After a Verified Request
- A. Once a deletion request is verified, the profile may first be removed from public discovery and matching flows so that it is no longer actively promoted or shown to other members.
- B. Active login access, communication features, or profile editing may be disabled while the request is being completed.
- C. Vadhuvara generally aims to complete verified deletion requests from active systems within 7 business days, although more complex cases may require additional review time.
- D. Some background backups, audit trails, and disaster recovery copies may take longer to cycle out, and certain records may remain retained for a longer period where legitimate legal or operational reasons apply.
Data Normally Deleted or De-Identified
- A. Profile information used for matchmaking, including name fields, profile descriptions, preferences, education, profession, and family details in active systems.
- B. Uploaded profile photos, gallery media, and non-essential attachments stored for matchmaking use, subject to legal hold or moderation exceptions.
- C. Contact preferences, visibility settings, shortlists, saved searches, and other account-level preferences maintained for the member experience.
- D. Account identifiers may be de-linked or converted to a de-identified record where the business needs to keep a narrow internal reference for security or audit control.
- E. Information already copied, downloaded, screenshotted, exported, or otherwise retained by other users outside Vadhuvara's controlled systems cannot be recalled by platform deletion alone.
Data We May Retain After Deletion
- A. Transaction, tax, invoice, payment settlement, and chargeback records where financial or statutory retention obligations apply.
- B. Security logs, abuse reports, complaint records, moderation notes, identity verification outcomes, and device or access logs needed to investigate fraud, misuse, or policy violations.
- C. Records necessary to defend legal claims, respond to regulatory requests, preserve evidence, enforce contracts, or comply with court orders and lawful government requests.
- D. Limited suppression records used to prevent immediate re-registration abuse, repeat impersonation, payment fraud, or evasion of prior enforcement actions.
Billing, Packages, Refunds, and Ongoing Services
Deletion of an account does not automatically create a right to refund, waive prior dues, reverse completed service periods, or cancel third-party platform charges unless such relief is separately available under the applicable package terms or law.
Where auto-renewal, assisted matchmaking, or concierge services are active, the user should make sure cancellation instructions are understood and completed. If additional steps are required before deletion, Vadhuvara should communicate those steps clearly.
If the account is deleted while a billing dispute, payment fraud review, chargeback, or refund investigation is pending, relevant billing and case records may be retained until the matter is resolved.
Safety, Fraud, and Legal Holds
- A. Vadhuvara may delay, limit, or partially fulfill a deletion request if the account is linked to a credible report of child safety risk, extortion, impersonation, dowry solicitation, financial abuse, harassment, or another serious policy breach.
- B. Where necessary, we may preserve content, logs, complaint material, and related metadata for internal review, legal advice, law enforcement requests, or court-compliant evidence preservation.
- C. A user cannot rely on an account deletion request to erase evidence of prior misconduct or to avoid an ongoing investigation or contractual dispute.
Re-Registration, Restoration, and Marriage Closure
Deleted accounts may not be recoverable once the deletion process is completed. Users who later return to the service may be required to create a fresh profile and complete current verification or onboarding requirements.
If a member has finalized a marriage and only wants profile closure without a broader data rights request, Vadhuvara may support a simpler closure or archive workflow where legally appropriate.
Where the business offers temporary hiding, pause, or deactivation features, members are encouraged to choose those options if they are uncertain about permanent deletion.
Contact and Escalation
For verified deletion requests, support questions, or complaints about account closure handling, users may contact support@vadhuvara.org.
Where the user believes a deletion request was not handled fairly, the user may ask for supervisory review, subject to identity verification and applicable legal restrictions.
