The policy describes the categories of profile, contact, device, payment, communication, and support data that may be handled when users create an account or use matrimony features.
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Vadhuvara accesses, collects, uses, stores, protects, shares, retains, and deletes personal and sensitive user data across its website, mobile app, assisted matchmaking services, customer support channels, and related features.
Where a feature relies on photos, media, device permissions, location, audio, video, or identity verification, Vadhuvara should use proportionate safeguards, limited access, and added in-app disclosures where required.
The policy explains active-use retention, backup handling, deletion requests, lawful retention, and the link between privacy rights and the separate account deletion process.
How this policy applies
This Privacy Policy applies to the Vadhuvara service, including the website, Android app, profile registration flows, family-assisted matchmaking support, payment and subscription operations, customer support interactions, safety reviews, and other official channels operating under the Vadhuvara name.
The exact data processed depends on the features a user chooses to use, the permissions granted on the device, the user's account settings, and whether the user interacts through the website, mobile app, assisted support, or a combination of these channels.
This policy is written to support current Google Play privacy policy expectations, but it must still remain accurate to the real behavior of the app, backend systems, SDKs, and business processes actually used in production. If the service changes materially, this policy should be updated before or at the time the change is introduced.
Who We Are and How to Contact Us
Vadhuvara is a matrimony service for adults seeking marriage-related introductions. This policy applies to data handled under the Vadhuvara name in connection with account creation, profile discovery, communication features, assisted family support, subscriptions, and moderation or safety functions.
For privacy-related questions, correction requests, deletion requests, or complaints about data handling, users may contact support@vadhuvara.org unless and until a more specific privacy contact is formally published.
If the Google Play store listing for the app is published under a legal entity name different from the Vadhuvara brand name, that listed entity should also be reflected in this policy before submission to Google Play.
Information Users Provide Directly
- A. Account and registration details, such as name, gender, age or date of birth, phone number, email address, city, language, religion, community, marital status, and other profile setup fields.
- B. Matrimony profile content, such as profile descriptions, partner preferences, education, occupation, family background, expectations, horoscope-related information where offered, and other information intentionally added by the user or an authorized family registrant.
- C. Media and documents, such as profile photos, gallery uploads, verification materials, identity or age-check information where required, and files submitted during support or dispute handling.
- D. Communication content, such as messages sent through platform channels, interests, shortlists, support emails, complaint submissions, or information shared during assisted matchmaking workflows.
- E. Payment and subscription information, such as package selection, billing name, transaction reference, invoice details, subscription status, and payment outcome information received from payment partners.
Information Generated When Users Use the Service
- A. Device and technical data, such as IP address, browser type, device model, operating system, app version, language setting, date and time stamps, crash logs, and diagnostic information.
- B. Usage and interaction data, such as log-in events, feature usage, page views, profile views, shortlist actions, search behavior, click patterns, and service performance events.
- C. Security and fraud signals, such as account access history, device or session identifiers, moderation flags, abusive behavior signals, suspicious automation indicators, and risk-review notes.
- D. Connection and service metadata for live or assisted features, such as session timing, participant identifiers, call scheduling information, or support notes associated with a guided introduction or concierge service.
Personal and Sensitive Data Categories Relevant to the Service
Vadhuvara may handle personal and sensitive user data depending on the feature set offered in the app or website. This can include profile identity information, contact information, personal images, payment-related information, communication content, location-related information if a location-enabled feature is used, and verification records used for safety, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
Because matrimony services can involve family details, photos, communication history, and social or cultural preference data, Vadhuvara should treat this information with a higher level of care even where a particular field is not legally classified as sensitive in every jurisdiction.
Vadhuvara does not sell personal and sensitive user data.
Device Permissions, In-App Disclosures, and User Consent
- A. If the app requests access to photos, files, camera, microphone, notifications, approximate or precise location, or other device permissions, the request should be limited to a feature that requires that access and should be reasonably expected by the user.
- B. If the app accesses, collects, uses, or shares personal and sensitive user data in a way that may not be obvious from the feature context, Vadhuvara should provide an additional in-app disclosure before requesting the relevant permission or consent, in line with Google Play policy expectations.
- C. Users may deny optional permissions, but some features may not work correctly without the relevant access. Where feasible, the service should degrade gracefully instead of blocking the entire app.
- D. If future app versions introduce new sensitive permissions, background access, or third-party SDK behavior that changes data handling, the in-app disclosures, Data safety form, and this Privacy Policy should be updated together.
How Vadhuvara Uses Personal Data
- A. To create, authenticate, operate, and maintain user accounts and matrimony profiles.
- B. To enable profile discovery, compatibility filtering, shortlisting, contact requests, and other core matchmaking features.
- C. To display profile information and shared content to other users, family representatives, or support personnel based on the user's settings, actions, and the platform's service logic.
- D. To process subscriptions, invoices, payment reconciliations, refunds where applicable, and related billing support.
- E. To provide customer support, family-assisted services, moderation, abuse prevention, child safety enforcement, fraud review, and dispute handling.
- F. To analyze usage trends, improve product stability, evaluate feature performance, and maintain service security.
- G. To communicate operational notices, alerts, service updates, verification requests, and policy or legal notices.
- H. To comply with legal obligations, court orders, regulatory requests, tax requirements, and lawful enforcement actions.
When Data May Be Shared or Disclosed
- A. With other users or families through the normal functioning of the service, such as when a profile is shown in search or matching results, when interest is exchanged, or when a user chooses to share profile details or media.
- B. With service providers acting on Vadhuvara's behalf, such as hosting providers, communications vendors, analytics or crash-reporting providers, customer support tools, payment processors, fraud-prevention tools, or media delivery partners, subject to contractual or operational controls.
- C. With trusted operational partners involved in assisted matchmaking, support workflows, or verification handling where access is necessary to provide the service.
- D. With law enforcement, regulators, courts, child protection authorities, cybercrime units, or other competent bodies where required by law, to protect safety, or to respond to a lawful request.
- E. In connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing event, or asset transfer, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
- F. Vadhuvara does not treat data transfers to processors acting on its behalf as a sale of user data, and it does not sell personal and sensitive user data for monetary consideration.
Data Security and Protection Measures
Vadhuvara should protect personal and sensitive user data using reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and the risks involved.
These measures may include HTTPS or comparable encryption in transit, access controls, authentication checks, role-based restrictions, logging, backup controls, vendor due diligence, moderation tooling, and periodic internal review of security practices.
No system can promise absolute security. Users are also responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and for reporting suspected unauthorized access promptly.
Data Retention
Vadhuvara retains personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain accounts, support matchmaking interactions, operate subscriptions, investigate complaints, and comply with legal, safety, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations.
Retention periods may vary by data type. Active profile information may remain available while the account is operational. Support records, transaction records, moderation logs, complaint history, or fraud-review records may be retained longer where justified.
Where data is no longer needed for active use, Vadhuvara should delete, de-identify, archive, or securely limit access to it according to the business need and legal retention requirements.
Account Deletion and User Rights
- A. Users may request account deletion and associated data handling through the mechanisms described in the separate User Account Deletion Policy.
- B. Users may also request correction or updating of inaccurate profile information and may withdraw certain optional permissions through device or account settings where applicable.
- C. Where required by law, users may have additional rights to access, correct, object to certain processing, request portability, or seek restriction of processing, subject to identity verification and applicable exceptions.
- D. Vadhuvara may retain limited data after deletion where necessary for fraud prevention, abuse enforcement, financial reconciliation, legal defense, or regulatory compliance, provided that the retention is proportionate and disclosed.
Cookies, Analytics, Webviews, and Similar Technologies
Vadhuvara may use cookies, local storage, SDKs, pixels, device identifiers, or similar technologies for log-in continuity, fraud control, performance monitoring, analytics, service improvement, user preferences, and limited operational messaging.
If the app or website uses embedded webviews or third-party libraries that collect or transmit user data as part of delivering a Vadhuvara-controlled experience, those practices should be treated consistently with this policy and the Google Play Data safety declarations.
Users may be able to control some tracking technologies through browser settings, device settings, or in-app permission controls, although disabling certain technologies may affect functionality.
Adult-Only Service and Children's Privacy
Vadhuvara is intended only for adults who are legally eligible to seek marriage-related introductions. The service is not designed for children, and profiles for minors are prohibited.
If Vadhuvara learns that personal data relating to a minor has been submitted or used in violation of its policies, it may remove the relevant content or account, restrict access, preserve evidence where needed, and take additional safety action in line with its Child Safety Policy.
Cross-Border Processing
Vadhuvara and its vendors may process data in more than one jurisdiction depending on hosting arrangements, communications providers, analytics tools, or support workflows.
Where personal data is transferred across borders, Vadhuvara should use lawful transfer mechanisms and reasonable safeguards appropriate to the applicable legal regime and the sensitivity of the data involved.
Policy Updates
Vadhuvara may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, Play Store policy changes, security practices, or operational needs.
If the changes are material, Vadhuvara should provide an updated effective date and, where appropriate, additional notice within the app, on the website, or through account communication channels.
